In the absence of Tiger Old Boys from the Uxella League programme this particular weekend, attention turned elsewhere in the top flight and there were some interesting results.
The early season pace-setters, Clearwater, were held to a draw away to Red Tile. Simon Bone scored for Tile while the visitors had a certain Steve Coppell (no, not him, the other one) to thank for their point after his goal made the final result 1-1.
Huntspill Crowns clinched a surprise home win over Squib Madrid after goals from Chris Farley, Kevin Watts, Graham Smith and from Dave Yates, who clinched all three points with the last kick of the game.
Railway Club secured a narrow 3-2 home win over Cross Rifles after two goals from Barry Hardwell and one from John Richards.
Two strikes from Andy White and another from Jamie Stewart gave Flag Old Boys a comfortable 3-0 win at North Petherton.
A brace from Robert Westlake was a major factor in Ashcott's 3-1 victory over Bunch of Grapes.
In the Second Division Glastonbury Town Sundays maintained their 100% record following their 7-3 away win over Cannington, despite falling behind in the first minute after conceding a penalty which was successfully converted by Cannington player-boss Ben Dyer. However, by the interval Glastonbury were firmly back in command of the game thanks to a first half hat-trick from James Shaw. Then, in the second period, George Sellick also bagged a hat-trick for the away side and Luke Ayres sealed the win. Cannington's other strikes were bagged by Nathan Chillingworth and Gary Addicott.
Commercial were in seventh heaven after finally securing their first victory more than a year after originally forming as Cobblestones FC. They had been happy enough last week after securing their first ever point but on this occasion they went all the way after an 80th minute goal from Ozkan Debe gave them a much celebrated 1-0 home win over Bridgwater Wanderers.
Puriton United moved into second place in the division two table after a great all-round performance gave them a 3-0 away win over Tor Sports. Two cracking efforts from Welsh powerhouse Will Beggs and yet another goal from veteran Darryl Taylor was the ultimate difference between the two sides.
The two newly created Grasshoppers sides are still finding their feet this season as they both suffered defeats again this weekend.
Grasshoppers '04 faced a difficult test away to last season's double trophy winning side that are now known as Maltshovel Sports. Maltshovel were much quicker out of the blocks and soon raced to a 3-0 half-time lead but the young Hoppers side, again fielding a team consisting mainly of promising 16-year-olds, came into their own after the break as they struck back on 50 minutes when Jimmer Nichols scored directly from a corner. Ten minutes later it got even better when new teenage signing Dan Luce scored a superb strike from outside the box into the top corner. However, Maltshovel struck back again soon afterwards to seal a 4-2 win and could well have added a further goal had it not been for an extraordinary Gordon Banks-style double save from Hoppers' Polish goalkeeper, Luke Szulc.
The other Hoppers team, Grasshoppers '05 fared no better at home to a hard-working Quantock Pride side and eventually went down 7-1 after four goals from Lee Goss, two from Paul Bawden and one from his brother James Bawden. Rob Whiterod snatched a late consolation effort for the Grasshoppers after he latched on to a poor back-header from a Pride defender and slotted home.
Countryman's perfect start to the season came to an end as they lost 1-2 at home to Woolavington Reserves despite a goal from Adam Culliford.
