DIVISION 1:
Putting their opening week defeat behind them, a back-to-full-strength Woolavington side equalled the highest scoreline of the Uxella League season so far with a 13-0 home victory over Cobblestones. Woolavington's goal haul included a hat-trick for Matthew Blackmore, a couple a piece for Tim Netto and Simon Caddy and individual strikes from Wayne Barry, Marcus Butler and James Prowse.
Clearwater also bounced back from their opening week thrashing at Tiger Old Boys to register an impressive 7-2 away victory at Admirals Landing with the goals coming courtesy of strikes from Steve Spencer(3), Danny Palfrey(2), Wayne Spencer and Jim Livingstone. Admirals' consolation goals came from Alex Mapstone and Stuart Crocker.
Champions Tiger Old Boys made it two wins out of two with a 3-0 away victory at Commercial. Tiger's goals came via a brace from Lee Huntley, the second of which was a clever diverting header into the top corner from a low cross, and a 25-yard unstoppable free kick from Shawn Pople.
Pig & Whistle also made it a perfect start to the season with their second successive victory, this time 6-0 away to Railway Club. Vince Kennedy scored another two to add to his opening day hat-trick, Dave Baker also got a couple and Gordon Addicott and super-sub Paul Bawron completed the rout.
Red Tile got their first three points on the board with a 4-2 home victory over fellow top flight new boys Durleigh. Tile's goals included two from Andy Staunton, one from Jason McPheat and a wonder goal from just inside the halfway line from Gavin Duffy.
DIVISION 2:
Flag Old Boys made it maximum points for the campaign so far with an impressive 9-0 away victory at Huntspill Crown. Four-goal Jamie Stewart led the way for Flag, Lee White bagged a hat-trick and James Richards registered his first ever goal at this level.
Cannington suffered a second successive home defeat, going down 1-0 to Woolavington Reserves, for whom Sean O'Neill was again on target.
Eastover Wanderers managed to secure their first point with a 3-3 draw away at North Petherton, with Eastover's goals coming from Tommy Chidgey, Simon Chidgey and Pat Roberts.
Tiger Old Boys Reserves also grabbed a point from a 3-3 home draw with Ashcott. Ashcott had looked set to claim all three points but Tiger Reserves' Paul Cook managed to conjure up a late equaliser with a superb solo effort which also completed his hat-trick.
DIVISION 3:
Admirals Reserves also drew 3-3 at home to Backpackers. Martin Cheese scored two and Kev Lawrence got Admirals' third.
Pig & Whistle Reserves ran out 5-3 winners at home to Middlezoy Athletic. Pig Reserves' goalscorers included Mark Coles, Mike Hart, Adam Jenkins and Chris Gillard.
Bridgwater Grasshoppers suffered a second successive defeat losing 7-2 away to Puriton United. The game had been evenly poised in the first half with fine Grasshoppers strikes from veteran striker Rob Whiterod and young midfield dynamo Adam Kinsey. However, the game turned early in the second half when the fiery Whiterod blotted his copybook with a red card for foul and abusive language. Thereafter, Puriton made their numerical advantage tell with some clinical finishing while the Hoppers suffered further bad luck, losing defenders Rich Jones and Dave Shaw to injury. Puriton's Darryl Taylor finished the game with four more goals to make him the Uxella League's Top Scorer so far with seven from two games while Rich Harvey(2) and Lee Harvey also got on the scoresheet for the home side.
