REPORT: GRASSHOPPERS 7 COUNTRYMAN 0 |
|
An under strength Countryman side, missing most of it's regular defence and goalkeeper, failed to impress on a well organised Grasshoppers side. The first half was an even game until Grasshoppers broke through the Countrymans defensive mix up about ten minutes before the break. Another strike just before half time for Grasshoppers gave them control of the game. At the re-start, a third goal was conceded, and the goals just kept coming. Without an experienced goalkeeper, there was little to stop the attempts on goal. A seriously under strength Countryman team was further hampered by the loss of Guy Culliford to what looks a bad knee injury. The last fifteen minutes being played a man short. A fine result for Grasshoppers, although not really tested by the Countryman's attack despite some good pressure.
