WEEK 18 ROUND-UP

With the weather severely affecting the condition of pitches this weekend's Uxella League programme saw only a handful of games played.

DIVISION 1:

In the only surviving fixture in the Uxella League's top flight, Clearwater put Admirals Landing to the sword with an 8-1 home victory, thanks to four goals from Steve Spencer and further strikes from Mike Stone, Wayne Spencer, Danny Palfrey and from Lee Pearce who not only scored a wonderful solo effort at one end but was also charitable enough to lob his own keeper and gift Admirals their consolation goal at the other. The three points ensures that Clearwater move up one place in the table to third.

DIVISION 2:

Black Horse are also upwardly mobile after their 6-1 away win at Eastover Wanderers. Matt Milton was the man of the match with a fine hat-trick which was sealed with a superb 30-yard volleyed strike. Andrew Barnett and James Taylor also got on the scoresheet for Horse who now move up into second place in the table.

The only other game played in the second division saw a shock result as Woolavington Reserves dug deep and came away with an impressive 2-0 home victory over North Petherton who had started the day eleven points ahead of the home side. Woolavington goals were both scored by Steve Haste and the result means that Woolavington leapfrog Eastover in the table to go third from bottom.

DIVISION 3:

The only surviving game in the third division was a top versus bottom affair with the result going according to form as all-conquering Artillery West Huntspill Boys made it twelve wins out of twelve with a 7-2 away victory at Middlezoy Athletic. Jeff Read and Pete Spellman both bagged two goals for the Division Three leaders with John Winter, Lee Trumper and "super-sub" Dean Holman completing the rout.
