FIVE OUT FOR GRASSHOPPERS TRIP |
|
Puriton will be without five key players for this weekend's trip to up-and-coming Bridgwater Grasshoppers.
In-form centre-back James Male has been ruled out for the season with shin splits, Ben Pollard is out for the time being with a recurring hamstring problem, Craig Evans is suffering from a leg injury while Nick McKenna and captain Lee Harvey will be missing due to work commitments.
With so many absentees new signings Lloyd Hacking and Ryan Cresswell will make their full debuts after impressing manager Rich Jennings when they came on in the recent draw with Glastonbury Town.
Manager Jennings may well have to play himself after being out for three weeks with a foot injury but is currently rated as having only a 50-50 chance of starting the game.
Jennings was philosophical when asked about his current injury crisis at his club, commenting: "We will give it our best shot against the in-form Grasshoppers but it is going to be a hard game as they have improved a lot and we seem to be going through a sticky patch at the moment. We are now setting our sights on hopefully finishing in second place this season because there is no way anyone will catch Artillery. They are a fantastic side and I think they will also do well in the Second Division next season".
