REPORT: PURITON UNITED 1 COUNTRYMAN 5 |
|
Countryman's mixed start to the season looked set to continue when Puriton's Ryan Williams scored from long range in the opening minute. However the away side soon got back on level terms following a decisive passing move through the middle of Puriton's defence, resulting in Jason Watson finishing smartly after five minutes.
The Countrymen then took control with a strong midfield performance from Adam Culliford. Further goals followed in the first half with Dan Bovington scoring twice and Dave Little converting a penalty.
The second half saw Countryman's defence take a hold of the game and allow further pressure to build on Puriton, with Dan Bovington sealing his hat trick with a good finish midway through the half.
The Countrymen kept creating chances but could not add to the scoreline. A good team performance moves them up to fourth in the table.
