Bill Brown Division 1 Cup Final:
Maltshovel Sports 2-3 Red Tile (AET)
Danny Markall Division 2 Cup Final:
Commercial 2-3 Cannington Sunday morning saw Cannington and Commercial kick off the first of a trophy double header as they contested the Danny Markall Cup Final. Despite strikes from Darren Hewitt and Ian Russell it is Cannington's name that will be engraved on the trophy as they went on to win 3-2.
The afternoon then saw Red Tile go head-to-head with Maltshovel Sports in the Bill Brown Final. Tile made all the early moves and took a deserved lead midway through the first half via player-manager Andy Staunton. However, the goal stirred Maltshovel into action and they then went on to dominate the next half hour or so during which they scored twice to put themselves seemingly in the driving seat with a 2-1 lead. Tile's prolific striker James Hamilton had other ideas as he scored a priceless equaliser that forced the final into extra time. The first period of extra time saw no further breakthrough as both sides cancelled each other out but in the second period and with another penalty shoot-out looming that man Hamilton latched on to the end of a superb cross from the right wing from Olly Smith to score his second of the game and to win the cup for Red Tile.
