RIFLES WILL BE PLAYING IN THE FIRST DIVISION NEXT SEASON |
|
The Cross Rifles welcomed back the return from Thailand/Australia of Mike (Mikey) Hawthorne and Matt (Iceman Phillips. It certainly gave the club a lift as they beat Clearwater 3 -2. A definate change as Clearwater thrashed the Rifles 6 - 1 at the bginning of January. Mikey was given man of the match and even though other clubs are trying for their signatures at the beginning of next season they have allready pledged their future to the club. This result thanks to goals from Paul Cornish (2) and a trademark bullet header from Jason (Bepe) Stephenson will insure that the Cross Rifles football club will be playing first division football next season. Chris Lawson-Blake has also pledged to stay on as Secretary for one more season even though he is going to Milton Keynes in August. He will be visiting Bridgwater on a weekly basis though he won't be attending the matches due to family commitments.
