With several new signings and first team players missing, Tor travelled to Bridgwater to face Commercial in a game that was played in a competitive but fair spirit.
The home side took the early advantage scoring twice in the first quarter with two well-taken goals. Tor found themselves on the back foot for most of the first half as the Commercial midfield dictated the run of play, however a controversial penalty, converted by Tor Sports legend Paul Pentney, allowed the visitors back into the game.
With five minutes remaining of the half, a wonder strike form Tor's man of the match Phil Johnson ensured the teams went in at the break on level terms. The second half saw a more evenly contested game as the Tor midfield improved, most notable captain John 'Vote' Osman and Nigel Cove on his return from sunning it in South America.
The game turned cruelly for the visitors as a fine save from Tor keeper Chris Wilcox was followed up with a hapless own goal from the colourful 'it wasn't me' Tony Yeardlsley.
With the seconds ticking away, Tor applied pressure to the home defence and forced a corner from the left, which resulted in an equalising second goal from Johnson. The 3-3 result was, on reflection, a fair one, however the away side felt the happier of the two teams with the point. Later on in the Tor watering hole back in Glastonbury, two goal hero Johnson finally admited that the 'wonder' strike was in fact meant as a cross.
Manager Richard Forster's ensuing quote for the week was: "You're born with skill, taught technique, but luck comes to those blessed with jam running through their veins".
